“The Subterraneans. The architectural decoration of the Baths of Caracalla”
On Friday, 21 December 2012, the Special Superintendency for the Archaeological Heritage of Rome inaugurated the opening of the Subterraneans of the Baths of Caracalla
and the permanent musealisation of some 45 marble findings which had never been exhibited before and have all been restored for this occasion.
The opening of the Subterraneans marks a further step in the project of valorisation and enhancement of the thermal complex, which over the years has increased the visitable area of the archaeological site.
