"Nero"
On 12 April 2011 the exhibition “Nero”, realized by the Special Superintendency for the Archaeological Heritage of Rome in collaboration with Electa, was inaugurated.
On display are some 200 pieces from among sculptures, reliefs, frescoes, paintings and artifacts coming from the latest important discoveries. The exhibition is enriched by videos, movies and 3D renderings of suggestive reconstructive hypotheses. It is divided into five sections staged in the following sites:
Curia Julia (Roman Forum) - Family, portraits / The black legend: Nero in historical painting
Temple of Romulus (Roman Forum) - Nero in cinematographic culture
Palatine Museum (Palatine Hill) - The luxury of the Imperial Palace / The Domus Transitoria
Colosseum - Before, during and after the fire of 64 CE / The Domus Aurea and the other residences of Nero.
Cryptoporticus of Nero (Palatine Hill) - The luxury of the Imperial Palace / Propaganda in the arts
8.30 to 19.00. The ticket office closes one hour earlier.
Full price: 12.00 euros; reduced: 7.50 euros.
The same ticket allows entrance to the Colosseum, the Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum.
