Result of the long-term cooperation between the Italian Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and the State Administration for Cultural Heritage of the People's Republic of China, the exhibition I Due Imperi. L'Aquila e il Dragone (The Two Empires. The Eagle and the Dragon) arrives in Rome and opens the Year of China in Italy.

Planetarium, external view

On Friday 17 December, the Octagonal Hall of the Baths of Diocletian, known as the Planetarium, reopened to the public. For the occasion, the temporary exhibition "Pietro Cascella al Planetario. I segreti del cielo”  (Pietro Cascella at the Planetarium. The secrets of the sky) has been mounted in it.

The entrance is in via Giuseppe Romita.

Synagogue of Ancient Ostia

On the occasion of the Day of Memory 2011, on Sunday 30th January the exhibition “Arte in Memoria” 6 has been inaugurated at the Synagogue of Ancient Ostia.

Portrait of Nero (59-64 CE). Palatine Museum, Rome

On 12 April 2011 the exhibition “Nero”, realized by the Special Superintendency for the Archaeological Heritage of Rome in collaboration with Electa, was inaugurated. 

On display are some 200 pieces from among sculptures, reliefs, frescoes, paintings and artifacts coming from the latest important discoveries. The exhibition is enriched by videos, movies and 3D renderings of suggestive reconstructive hypotheses. It is divided into five sections staged in the following sites:

Since 23 June, at the archaeological site of Capo di Bove, the photographic exhibition "The Appian Way. Laboratory of possible worlds" has been open to the public.
